MTK-Delek jointly organize workshop on life support
The Men-Tsee-Khang (MTK) and the Delek Hospital organized a two-day workshop on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on basic & advance life support at the MTK on 19-20 October.
Med. Dr Fossen Domenico, anesthesiologist and former professor of CPR at Verona University and his lovely wife Dr Rezzadore Renata, psychologist and psychotherapist at the Family Planning & Public Health from Venice were the two resource persons.
20 doctors from various departments and branch clinics of MTK along with few nurses from the Delek hospital attended the workshop. The new administration, having understood a need for such training, took the matter close to its heart in arranging workshops of its kind available to all the Tibetan physicians working at the MTK primarily to address the urging need of a time. In facilitating such training programme, the administrative assures that these workshops will become guiding principle in their future course of action – encouraging further collaboration on such matters.
This workshop was possible only because of kind efforts of Dr Tseten Dorjee Sadutshang, without his consent and delegation the workshop wouldn’t have been possible. Therefore, the MTK administration expresses deep reverence and appreciation for the same.
The course attendees received both theoretical and practical lessons on life support – the resource persons dealt so professionally in making things clear to all.
It is the hope of the administration that the training on life support will formidably add yet another indispensable tool in the kit of Tibetan physicians. As Dr Domenico opinions that such training is not merely restricted to the doctors but general public should also be given opportunity to study this. It is therefore important that everybody must know its procedures.
The director somehow maintains the administration’s priority to retain basic principles of diagnosis and treatment of Tibetan medicine above all.
