
The
Men-Tsee-Khang (MTK) celebrated its 44th
founding anniversary on the 23rd March
2005. The Kalon for Health and Education Mr. Thupten Lungrig
was the chief guest. The Education Secretary Venerable Karma
Yuthok and the heads of various NGO’s were other distin-guished
guests at the gathering of more than 200 staff of the MKT
in the main hall of the institute.
The Director Dr Dawa read out the institute’s annual
report. In his report the director said that the Men-Tsee-Khang
in its last financial year from 1 April 2004 to 31 March
2005 gave free and concessional medications worth Rs. 8.33
millions to new arrivals from Tibet, elderly people, monks
and nuns, students and CTA staff. This was followed by presentation
to staff who were felicitated by the chief guest for 30
and 20 years services to the institute respectively. The
chief guest also felicitated doctors who underwent examination
for Menrampa Chungwa degree and awarded prizes to the 13th
medical recruits for their excellence in the examinations.
Kalon Thupten Lungrig in his public address to the MTK staff
advised to maintain good working relationships amongst the
staff and also emphasized the importance to see that the
personal grudges should not hamper the official work.
Dr Tsewang Tamdin on behalf of the administration and the
staff of Men-Tsee-Khang thanked the chief guest for his
guiding principle and advice, and also thanked all the other
distinguished guests for sparing time from their busy schedules
to attend this function.
