During this fortnight medical consultation programme, the visiting doctor gave medical consultation to 74 patients. Majority of the patients are said to have been suffering from nerve related, arthritis and blood-wind related diseases. Advises on dietary and behavioural regimens were also given to the visiting patients for which both the organiser and the patients were reported to have shown satisfaction and keen interest. The organiser Ms. Ingrid Kristensen writes, “I have contacted several clients that have been examined by Dr. Mankhang, and they all are very satisfied with him.”
Since, this was the first time Tibetan doctor from Men-Tsee-Khang ever visited MO I Rana for medical tour, it is reported that very few turned up initially for medical consultations. But with very good coverage given on local newspapers on Tibetan doctor’s visit to the area have doubled the inflow of patients at the campsite. The doctor also gave an interview for the local newspaper on the efficacy of Tibetan medicine.
The administration thanks Mrs. Anne Harila and the organiser Ms. Ingrid Kristensen for organising this tour and for their hospitality to our visiting doctor.
