Friday, October 06: The Inspector General (IG) Brig. Vijay Singh and Col S.K. Sharma, Special Frontier Force (SFF), Delhi, paid goodwill visit to Men-Tsee-Khang with their families yesterday at 12:30 p.m. Dapon Tashi Wangchuk also accompanied the team. They were greeted by the Director Dr. Dawa and Branch Director Mr. Tsering Dorjee. Earlier in mid August the Branch Director Mr. Tsering Dorjee visited Danglob, the headquarters of the SFF. He was very well received by the authorities there.

The team visited the Museum where they were given introduction on Tibetan medicine and astrology. The Brigadier took keen interest in both Tibetan medicine and astrology. He particularly asked many questions related to Tibetan astrology.

The Director and the Branch Director had good discussions with the visiting Brigadier over the existing Men-Tsee-Khang branch clinic at Chakrata, headquarters of SFF. The Brigadier and his associate assured to provide continual support to the Men-Tsee-Khang whether it be regarding the healthcare facilities of the branch clinic or with other related work. In anticipation of their kind assurance for further cooperation, the Director thanked the two visiting chiefs of the SFF. One behalf of the Men-Tsee-Khang administration, the Director gave small token of appreciation to both the Brigadier and the Colonel. They were later taken for a round trip to the Pharmaceutical Department. This department caters to the need of herbal medicinal pills of all the 49 branch clinics of the institute situated throughout India and Nepal. The IG appreciated the good work of the Men-Tsee-Khang, especially the manufacturing processes of Tibetan medicines where careful traditional and innovative modern gadgets are used skillfully for productive results.

The Director at the end thanked the Brigadier and the Colonel for their visit to the institute and exchanged good wishes.
