Training programme for branch doctors conclude

Saturday, October 21, 2006:More than 10 doctors from various branch clinics have come for a 5-day workshop-cum-training programme being organised by the Men-Tsee-Khang administration here in Dharamsala from the 16th to the 20th of October.

The visiting team of doctors had opportunity to listen to numerous lectures relating to Tibetan medicine, such as efficacy of Tibetan medicines on chronic diseases, Tibetan medicinal plants identification, history of Tibetan medicine, research reports on Hepetitis and the importance of administering hot and cold medications, and importance of documentation in research protocol and the methods of filling up forms.

The resource persons during this 5-day workshop were Dr. Namgyal Tsering, Dr. Pema Dorjee, Dr. Dawa Dolma, Dr. Sonam Lhamo, Dr. Choelothar, Dr. Tsering Dorjee, Dr. Tenzin Namdul and Dr. Rinzin Sangmo.

This was the second time the administration organized such workshops. 20 doctors participated in such training programme last year in the month of October. This platform is made available to all the doctors in a group-wise. Possibly there will again be another such programme next year with another group of doctors. It is hoped that the visiting doctors will put into practice all that they have learnt during this 5-day workshop when they all return back to their respective clinics.
