Charitable Education
As part of its charity work, Men-Tsee-Khang
also provides free education for its medical and astrological
students.
In the twelfth intake, which
took place in 1997, Men-tsee-Khang enrolled twenty six students
in the Medical College and Seven in the Astrological College.
Charitable Health Care
As a registered charity, it is Men-Tsee-Khang
policy to provide free medicine to Tibetans over the age
of seventy, to new Tibetan refugees for the first six
months, and to poor or desitute Tibetans (the respective
Settlement/Welfare Officer in the refugee settlement determines
whether a Tibetan is poor or destitute). Concessional medicine
is provided to monks, nuns and students.
