Men-Tsee-Khang works on its facelift:
Since Men-Tsee-Khang is a medical institute
frequented by many patients both from within and outside India,
therefore, the surroundings of the Men-Tsee-Khang need to
have better look that will not only add to the beauty of the
area but will also give very positive and pleasant feeling
to the visiting patients as well. Keeping in view the importance
of such work, Men-Tsee-Khang had plans to facelift outdoor
settings yet, lack of human resources pushed the plan further
away from realising it.
Since last year Men-Tsee-Khang
had very good contact and encouraging response from Mr. Trond
Endresen who with his two colleagues, Mr. Jan Feste and Mrs.
Tone Telnes volunteered to work on complete-makeover of the
Men-Tsee-Khang surrounding. They visited Men-Tsee-Khang from
16-23 March 2006 andinspected
entire surroundings. They also met with the administrative
committees twice to present their earlier works, suggestions
and of course, presented some sketches and photographs that
they have worked on from 16 to 22 March 2006. The committee
appreciated their work very much and assured to give full
cooperation in the process of their work here at the Men-Tsee-Khang
and thereafter. The committee also had discussions on the
Men-Tsee-Khang’s proposed projects—the model university
and the modern pharmaceutical unit with the three visiting
team from Feste Grenland company. The later also accepted
to offer their expertise on the two proposed projects as well.
In appreciation of their voluntary
involvement to remodel Men-Tsee-Khang’s environment,
the administration hosted a dinner party to the three visiting
landscape architects on 22 March. In his brief speech, the
Director Dr Dawa thanked them and appreciated their kind consideration
to work together with us in future ventures. Mr. Trond Endresen
acknowledging director’s concern, expressed happiness
over their involvement in our projects and assured every possible
technical assistance to the Men-Tsee-Khang.
The three landscape designers left
Dharamsala via Chandigarh in the morning of 23 March.
